AFTER a weekend of scorching conditions, the mercury has dropped on Monday morning, shrouding the city in fog.
The heavy fog has caused some early-morning delays with Fly Pelican flights from Newcastle to Canberra grounded until the white veil lifts.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology the cooler morning will be short-lived with temperatures expected to surpass 30 degrees Celsius to kick-off the working week.
The early fog will clear to a partly cloudy day. There is a 20 per cent chance of a shower in the afternoon and evening. Light winds becoming northeast to southeasterly 20 to 30 km/h in the middle of the day then becoming light in the evening.
