With an acclaimed portfolio of hotels nation-wide, IRIS has received a range of nominations from a variety of categories.

“The AHA Awards for excellence are pre-eminent industry awards and significant prestige to be a finalist, let alone winner,” said Craig Hibbard, General Manager of IRIS Capital.

“The Awards are recognition of the owners and teams coming together to support a community in which we operate.”

“It is amazing to be recognised in front of your industry peers for the contribution,” he said when asked how he felt about the nominations.

Mr Hibbard said it was the small things that matter when it comes to getting customers to keep coming back.

“Opening the door for a mum with a pram or singing happy birthday at someone’s 60th. Saying hello to the customers by name or simply saying thank you. Our team goes out of their way to make the experience at our venues not just enjoyable but memorable.”

Peden’s Family Hotel is one of the newest members of the Iris family.

Mr Hibbard is particularly proud of the Peden’s Family Hotel and said the team works hard to maintain great relationships with their customers by being connected to the community.

They achieve this through a range of sponsorship's and community organisations as well a strong local network of customers.

“Our staff engage at a completely different level.”

The two newest additions to the IRIS group, the Sydney Junction Hotel and the Gunyah Hotel have collectively been nominated as finalists for seven different categories including Best Family Friendly, Heart of the Community, Best Social Media Activity, Best Gaming Venue, Best Sports Bar, Best Bar TAB and Country Chef of the Year.
