A modern home with a “relaxed, beachy feel” was the outcome master builder Michael Dent was after when he designed a versatile five-bedroom residence at 7 Bligh Street in Caves Beach.
He used the footprint of the property’s original house, which was single storey with three bedrooms.
Making the most of its location was also important. It is within close proximity to the beach and Caves Beach Surf Lifesaving Club.

“You can see the ocean from just about every room in the house,” Mr Dent said.

On the main level are three bedrooms, a family room and a sleek Caesarstone kitchen with large butler’s pantry and living extending to a covered timber deck. It overlooks an inground saltwater pool with waterfall feature.
One bedroom has an ensuite and deck access and can be used as a parents’ or teenagers’ retreat or guest accommodation.
Upstairs is the master bedroom with luxury ensuite, walk-in robe, balcony and ocean views. There is also another living space, fifth bedroom and study.
It is being marketed by Neil Fry, of Bell Property Charlestown, with a guide of $1.898 million to $1.998 million.
“There’s nothing predictable about it,” Mr Fry said. “It’s a bespoke design, taking advantage of its north to south aspect.”
Mr Fry told Domain last month demand remained strong for top-end properties in Caves Beach.
