An elderly woman had to be treated for smoke inhalation after a lounge went up in flames in her unit at Swansea.
Two fire trucks were sent to Wallace Street in Swansea at 8.30 pm on Sunday night, following reports of a fire in an apartment.
“Two trucks went down and found a small fire on her lounge,” a spokesperson for Fire and Rescue NSW said.
“The lounge was on fire.”
Fire crews quickly extinguished the burning piece of furniture.
“It was all over in a couple of minutes,” the spokesperson said.
Paramedics attended to an “elderly” occupant of the apartment.
The woman was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, a spokesperson for Ambulance NSW said.
She was not taken to hospital.
