THE Newcastle music calendar has become more jam-packed with new music festival Up Down announced on Tuesday.
Up Down beach party is scheduled for Sunday, March 17 at the Newcastle Foreshore and will feature a host of international and Australian electronic dance artists to create a “house music vibe.” The line-up is still being finalised and is expected to be announced next Tuesday.
Up Down is curated by the same team behind This That, which has become Newcastle’s leading music festival over the past four years. While This That attracted 15,000 punters to Wickham Park last month, Up Down will be capped at 5000.
After being devoid of live music last summer, Newcastle Foreshore will be entertainment central in early 2019.
On January 19 new wave legends Icehouse headline the inaugural By The C with The Sunnyboys, Do Re Mi and Mental As Anything.
Then a day before Up Down on March 16, Live At The Foreshore returns after a year off with Divinyls, Kate Ceberano, Leo Sayer and Marcia Hines headlining the baby boomer-focused festival.
Members pre-sale begins on Thursday December 13 at 9am, followed by general public tickets on December 14 at 9am.
