A SECOND tram has joined Newcastle’s light rail fleet after arriving in the city on Tuesday morning.
The tram was rolled onto the city’s line in Hunter Street as daylight broke before being moved into the Wickham stabling yard.
It was a similar method used to when the first tram of the fleet arrived in September.
Another CAF produced tram is expected to be hauled from the Illawarra to Newcastle on Thursday morning.
Transport Minister Andrew Constance said during the first daytime test the line would begin passenger journeys in February, 2019.
The project has so far been completed on-time and on-budget, according to Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter Scot MacDonald.
