Strong business planning, and recruiting the right people have been pivotal to SEHEZ Group becoming a significant player in the local construction sector in a relatively short period of time.
SEHEZ Group won the Excellence in Small Business Award at the state's biggest business awards hosted by the NSW Business Chamber in November.
The awards bring together and showcase the best businesses across sixteen regions in NSW. Premier, NSW, Gladys Berejiklian and Lord Mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore were among the 920 guests at the ceremony recognising those businesses whose passion, determination, innovation and success inspire others.
After winning the Hunter Business Chamber Award in August, SEHEZ Group progressed as a finalist to the NSW Business Chamber Awards to compete amongst 16 regional winners from across the state for the top honour.
The innovative Newcastle based construction company say they have established a service provider model that enables them to closely partner with their clients in lieu of the traditional client / contractor relationship, to ensure that the objectives of both parties are aligned and achieved.
While still offering their clients a high-quality building service, the SEHEZ Group team, who are predominantly degree qualified engineers, construction managers, and business managers, are also able to understand the commercial and strategic goals of clients.
This approach allows SEHEZ Group the ability to attract a wider range of clients and tailor its services to meet their specific needs instead of trying to match them to a standard product and approach.
This model has seen the business take on several challenging projects from a construction, financial and program perspective while still delivering quality results and exceptional service.
The business has experienced 300 per cent annual growth for the last three years, winning major projects across the residential and commercial building sectors. Hunter Business chamber CEO, Bob Hawes commented at the NSW Business Awards "the company has demonstrated great ingenuity and business sense to establish so quickly in a competitive marketplace”.
Matt Galvin, co-founder of SEHEZ Group, noted that running a business is a daily challenge and recognition among peers is very rewarding.
“On behalf of our directors, we thank our staff, clients and subcontractors for contributing to our journey and successes to date. We are pleased to work with people that think like us, challenging the norm and always on the lookout for innovation. Without your contribution we could never have progressed to this point.”
