A south- and northbound lane on Nelson Road near Williamtown has been closed as a result of a motor vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon.
Police and emergency services were called to the scene around 4.50pm, where they found two vehicles had been involved in a crash.
Paramedics treated an 87 year-old man who was trapped in his vehicle, and a 76 year-old woman. Both patients were reported to be conscious and breathing, a NSW Ambulance spokespersons said.
Another woman of unknown age was also treated by paramedics at the scene.
Officers from Raymond Terrace were on the scene to help control traffic, which is heavy in the area. Drivers have been advised to travel cautiously and allow extra time.
