IT TOOK eight crews and 30 fire fighters to extinguish a blaze at a Cooks Hill apartment overnight.
Emergency services received a call out to the corner of Parkway Avenue and Union Street just before 1.30am Thursday.
A fire had started in a second storey unit of a three-level apartment block.
According to a Fire and Rescue NSW spokesman, the unit was well alight when crews arrived at the scene.
Fire fighters started attacking the blaze, while 18 neighbouring residents were evacuated from adjoining units.
The fire was extinguished by 2am and the scene handed over to police.
No one was injured in the incident. It is not known what started the fire at this stage.
