A young woman from the Central Coast has died in hospital after attending a music festival in Sydney’s west on Saturday.
A spokesperson for NSW Police said officers were told by the teenager’s friends that she took an “unidentified substance” at the festival.
Police are now investigating the circumstances around the 19-year-old’s death.
The woman was taken to Westmead Hospital by paramedics after she collapsed at the event at around 6pm.
She died in the hospital later that evening.
Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command are appealing for anyone with information about the death to come forward.
They will prepare a report for the coroner.
FOMO Festival was a one-day event held in Parramatta Park.
An estimated crowd of 11,387 people attended the music festival with officers searching a total of 146 people with 54 people found in possession of drugs.
A further 24 people were ejected from the venue, generally for intoxication issues, and 28 were refused entry.
The festival, which has already been held in Brisbane and Adelaide, will travel to Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne for it’s last run on Sunday.
This year’s lineup was headlined by American rapper Nicki Minaj.
