Round 2 of Newcastle Hunter Rugby Union sees Merewether Carlton take on the Nelson Bay Gropers at Bill Strong Oval on Saturday from 3pm.
Meanwhile, in other NHRU news, four-time defending champions Hamilton will have five players on debut for their first game of the year after what Hawks coach Scott Coleman described as a "disruptive" off-season.
Coming off the bye Passmore Oval newcomers hooker Reuben Gill, prop Michael Alifaalogo, flanker Liam Bowden, halfback Zac Sykes and winger Caileb Gerrard will have their maiden runs in the club's top XV when Hamilton meets the Bulls at Singleton on Saturday.
The likes of Steve Lamont (back) and Chris Ale (hamstring) are sidelined with injury, Seva Rokobaro (Merewether) and Kirisome Laulala (Lake Macquarie) changed allegiances while Ivan Walkling and Paddy Kilmurray both retired.
It means a new-look Hawks in 2019, starting with round two of the Newcastle Hunter Rugby Union premier 1 competition.
"We have five blokes making their first grade debuts this weekend," Coleman said.
"I can't remember that happening too much with us recently. It's been a really disruptive pre-season and our trial form was terrible.
"In saying that, we're looking forward to getting out there again and we know if it gets hard we need to play tight, play straight and do we what we know best by being patient with the ball."
