A man has died and a child has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the Pacific Highway south of Bulahdelah on Sunday afternoon.
Police said the three-car collision occurred at Nerong just after 2pm.
A male driver of one of the vehicles died at the scene and a child passenger of one of the cars was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Emergency crews were working to free another driver, who was trapped in one of the vehicles.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter transported a woman believed to be aged in her 50s, who reportedly had multiple injuries and was in a critical condition, to hospital.
A third driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Bulahdelah Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
Northbound lanes of the Pacific Highway remain closed, with traffic diverted at Bucketts Way. Southbound traffic is slowly moving past the crash site.
