Slovakian import Dominik Gabaj had a breakout weekend for undefeated leaders the Newcastle Northstars in Adelaide, scoring seven goals and making three assists against the Adrenaline across Saturday and Sunday.
Gabaj (18 points) now finds himself in the Australian Ice Hockey League top five individuals alongside Northstars teammates Sammy Banga (17) and Francis Drolet (15) following Newcastle's third straight double header.
Top-of-the-table Northstars beat the Adrenaline 8-2 in game two after a 10-3 result to open the back-to-back fixtures at IceArena.
Gabaj scored a hat-trick before the end of period two in the second match after netting four throughout the first encounter.
Banga had a combined one goal and four assists.
Newcastle have the league's best goal differential at plus-26 after six outings. They have scored 39 times.
The Northstars now host the Melbourne Ice (May 18) and Melbourne Mustangs (May 19) at Hunter Ice Skating Stadium this weekend.
