Career Links proudly presents The Newcastle and Lake Macquarie Career Expo being held on Thursday, May 16 at the Newcastle Racecourse.

The Career Expo is the largest event of its kind in the region, attracting local and interstate Universities and Colleges, Training Providers and Employers.

Career Links in conjunction with Regional Development Australia's ME Program have invited a number of high skill Industries, some of whom are the largest employers in the Hunter.

New this year is the Apprenticeship and Traineeship Zone. This will ensure students wishing to focus on a career in the trades or vocational fields have access to expert career advice, all in one section.

Over 4000 students from high schools within the region regularly attend this event.

Attending the Career Expo not only gives students an insight into career opportunities, it lays out the pathways available into further education, training and employment.

Careeer Links welcome all parents and community members to participate in this event from 1pm to 3pm (Entry is $5 per person).

The contribution of Major Sponsors - The University of Newcastle and Regional Development Australia ME Program - and Supporting Partners - Defence Force Recruiting, Avondale College of Higher Education, TAFE NSW and the Department of Education - are integral to this event's ongoing success.

Career Links, together with Sponsors and Partners, are proud to offer Hunter youth the chance to explore their career options and opportunities at The Newcastle & Lake Macquarie Career Expo. Together with this continued support, the Expo will keep expanding each and every year.

CAREER LINKS

Career Links was established in 2000 to service the youth of the region.

It is a not-for-profit organisation providing a range of programs and services, connecting young people with business, education and community, enabling them to transition from school to further education and employment.

This transition is a critical point in development and without targeted support, students risk becoming an unemployment statistic.
