A man's body has been found in the water at a wharf in Newcastle.
Police said the unidentified man "appears to be 30 to 50 years old".
He had a beard, thinning hair and a number of tattoos on his right hand and right shoulder.
A police statement said the man was found "in the water behind a hotel on Wharf Road" at 8.20am on Saturday.
It's believe the hotel was Rydges Newcastle.
"It is believed the body had been in the water for a short time," the statement said.
"There is nothing at this stage to suggest the man's death is suspicious."
Police found a "small amount of property" on the man, but no identification.
